Be On Mission

“Making the real gospel recognizable in Tomball and beyond”

At Redeemer Church, our Mission’s focus is centered on three driving principles:

- Bringing the Gospel to unreached people groups
- Involvement in local (Tomball and surrounding) Gospel Initiatives
- Church Planting (Local and Global)

"Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples" Psalm 96:3

Redeemer Church is committed to partnering with local and global ministries by using the resources Jesus has provided to our church through prayer, financial support and involvement from our church family.

In 2018, Redeemer is supporting mission efforts:

  • The Bakhtadze’s - Gia and Nino, Salome, Andria and Timote (Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia) Gia is a Pastor at Savior Bible Church, ministering to the people of The City of Tbilisi and the nearby refugee camp, Frezeti, to bring the Gospel to a culture steeped in orthodox religions. Gia and Nino work with a newly formed Pastorial Association to reach people groups throughout Georgia and to build unity among the partner churches.  PRAYER NEEDS: (1) That there would be a spiritual revival in Georgia and people would turn from empty Orthodox folk traditions, to personal relationships with Jesus Christ as their only true God and Savior. (2) For SBC to be able to build or buy a building for the church despite the barriers and opposition that the government creates; and (3) for planting a new church among the Russian speaking population in Tbilisi.

  • The Hortman’s - Greg and Corinne, Justus, Asher and Jalynn (Chiang Rai, Thailand) The Hortmans have been ministering to the Tai Yuan people of Thailand for 15 years. Their ministry is to work with the Chiang Rai Christian International School (developed to educate children of Christian missionaries and national Christian workers), which is now open to non-believers as well (30% of enrollment), reaching local students and parents.   PRAYER NEEDS: (1) Wisdom for Greg and Corinne as they seek the Lord's guidance in nurturing growth and maturation at CRICS amongst students and families and teachers; and (2) That the diverse people of Chiang Rai would come to know that they can follow Jesus and not be prisoners to established religion.

  • The Cook's - Josh and Joanna, Josiah, and Luca (S.E. Asia)  We are trusting the Lord to raise lifetime laborers through multiplying discipleship by sharing the Gospel and mobilizing students to help fulfill the great commission alongside local churches. Our region alone has over 400 universities and we are trusting God to help us have a ministry presence on 125 of them by 2020.  PRAYER NEEDS: (1) Pray for the Lord to start movements through our Key Student Volunteers; (2) Pray for continued protection for our team from the government;  (3) Pray for blessings on our family, the salvation of Josiah and Luca, and the continued healthy development of our third son to be born in June! and (4) Pray the Lord would provide all of our needs for our upcoming 6 month home assignment! ** For monthly updates and prayer requests, contact the Redeemer office about being added to our update list!**

  • The Furman’s - Dave and Gloria (Dubai). In August 2008, several families dreamt together about planing a gospel-centered church in the heart of Dubai. Over the next 18 months, several leaders met together to make plans and pray. What followed was a series of pre-launch meetings, first in the basement of a large home and then at a hotel. These were exciting times! Those few families were joined by about 80 other brothers and sisters. With their hearts full of hope in Christ and the strategic help of the United Christian Church of Dubai, Redeemer was planted on February 12, 2010. Redeemer quickly grew to over 50 nationalities and eventually moved their corporate gatherings from Deira City Centre to the JW Marriott (Deira) in August of 2011.  PRAYER NEEDS: (1) For their church planting efforts. They've planted two churches recently and are gearing up for more; (2) Finances are tough among our community and members are losing jobs. Pray the church would cast their cares on the Lord; and (3) For the salvation of their children and that Christ would be the center of their home

  • The Garcia’s - Sergio and Sophia (Northside of Houston). Kerusso Grace Church is just north of downtown Houston in Northside Village. Inner-city church planting is a great challenge. In Northside Village, you will find the lowest public school graduation rates in the city, and although gang violence has declined, the area is influenced by prison gangs and ex-prisoners exiting the nearby city jail. High rates of homelessness, broke or divorced families, alcoholism, and one of the deepest and darkest secrets of Houston they face is human trafficking. Kerusso Grace Church, Sergio and his family, and the leaders at Kerusso are committed to evangelizing, making disciples, loving their neighbors, and seeing the gospel spread block by block.  PRAYER NEEDS: (1) Sergio and the leadership for the church to enjoy God and his grace; (2) For the Lord's guidance in the aftermath of Harvey. Many doors in the community have been opened ex. High School, Middle School and Elementary School. We have been able to establish relationships with the public schools in ways we could not before; and (3) For God to empower us and protect us as we go into the dark areas to preach the gospel (Salvation).

  • Tomball Pregnancy Center - Tomball Pregnancy Center is a non-profit medical clinic offering support for pregnancy-related issues and reproductive health education. It’s also a frontline ministry serving individuals and families from pregnancy through two years of age. Its specific goal is to help women and men during unintended pregnancies with real options counseling. As a Life Affirming program, TPC helps with prenatal and parenting information—including fetal development, referrals for adoption placement, and procedures and risks associated with abortion. If a client does terminate her pregnancy, TPC staff continues to provide care and support with abortion recovery programs and referrals, so that her life can be touched with Christ’s love, mercy, and healing. When a woman decides to parent, class attendance earns rewards to be used in TPC’s boutique for items for baby and mother alike. Men are encouraged to take part in all classes as well, and can also participate in fatherhood programming. PRAYER NEEDS: (1) Pray that God prepares the hearts of TPC's vulnerable clients - that even before they come in, they would be ready to hear God's truth about how much He values them; (2) for the staff and volunteers to have strength and wisdom as they hear the sometimes tragic circumstances that clients have experienced; and (3) that God would continue to build TPC's foundation of support from donors, volunteers, and prayer partners.

  • Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministry (T.E.A.M.) - For over 32 years, the Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries (TEAM) mission has been to foster relationships within our community and, as members of the unified body of Christ, provide service to those in need, so that both those served and those serving will achieve their full potential in Christ. Through the resale shop, food pantry, and assistance ministry, TEAM provides short-term assistance with food, clothing, and financial help with shelter, rent, utilities, and medical, dental, and vision needs. TEAM receives no government or large corporation funding, yet more than 90% of all donations go directly to meet client needs. And in 2017 TEAM provided over $271,000 in aid to hurting families within our community. As TEAM only has 2 full-time paid staff, this is only possible through volunteer support, and food and financial donations from members of the Tomball Community. TEAM also facilitates, and is the hub for, the new Tomball Benevolence Network (TBN). Prayer Needs: 1) The continued grace, provision, and direction of God for TEAM; and 2) The addition of several volunteers to fill needs for clothes sorting, cash register help, marketing, and visual merchandising.

  • Colossians 1:28 - Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
