“Making the real gospel recognizable in Tomball and beyond”
At Redeemer Church, our Mission’s focus is centered on three driving principles:
- Bringing the Gospel to unreached people groups
- Involvement in local (Tomball and surrounding) Gospel Initiatives
- Church Planting (Local and Global)
"Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples" Psalm 96:3
Redeemer Church is committed to partnering with local and global ministries by using the resources Jesus has provided to our church through prayer, financial support and involvement from our church family.
In 2016, Redeemer is supporting mission efforts:
The Valcin’s - Gersan and Betty, Elizabeth & Deborah (Port au Prince, Haiti). Gersan serves as the Sr. Pastor of The Church Of The Evangelical Community. They have ministered to the people of Haiti by planting 72 churches and by raising up new leaders within the country. They founded the Ministry of Jacob's Well newar Limbe in Northern Haiti, which includes a christian campground, and an elementary school serving 60 students, along with The Jacob's Vision Evangelical Church for the new believers in Jesus. The ministry operates CIEL98.7 FM which broadcasts christian music, prayer and devotional programs, news and sports. PRAYER NEEDS: (1) That the Light of Christ within the culture continues to loosen the evil grip of voodoo on the Haitians; (2) That the Interim President, Mr. Privert, and the First Lady, both followers of Jesus, will use their positions to advance the Gospel within Haiti at all political and social levels; and (3) For the two remaining voodoo priests near Jabob's Well to make decisions for Christ, making Ti Guinee the first of many villages to entirely transform from practicing voodoo to following Jesus Christ. (valcinministry.org & valcinministry.org/wordpress/jacobswell).
The Bakhtadze’s - Gia and Nino, Salome, Andria and Timote (Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia) Gia is a Pastor at Savior Bible Church, ministering to the people of The City of Tbilisi and the nearby refugee camp, Frezeti, to bring the Gospel to a culture steeped in orthodox religions. Gia and Nino work with a newly formed Pastorial Association to reach people groups throughout Georgia and to build unity among the partner churches. PRAYER NEEDS: (1) That the people of Georgia will accept Jesus Christ as the only true God and turn away from centuries-old orthodox teachings; and (2) For funding for The Savior Bible Church Building Project, allowing the church to serve as a christian place of worship.
The Hortman’s - Greg and Corinne, Justus, Asher and Jalynn (Chiang Rai, Thailand) The Hortmans have been ministering to the Tai Yuan people of Thailand for 11 years. Their ministry is on two fronts. One is to work with the local christians, partnering with churches who are currently planting churches in Buddhist neighborhoods. The second is to work with the Chiang Rai Christian School (developed to educate children of Christian missionaries), which is now open to non-believers as well (30% of enrollment), reaching local students and parents. Currently, they are in the US on a one-year sabbatical through July 2016. PRAYER NEEDS: (1) Wisdom for Greg and Corinne as they seek the Lord's guidance about new and continued ministries when they return to Chiang Rai; and (2) That the diverse people of Chiang Rai would come to know that they can follow Jesus and not be prisoners to established religion.
The Cook's - Josh and Joanna, Josiah, and Luca (S.E. Asia) The Cooks are reaching students on local campuses, sharing the Gospel, and encouraging them to become part of the local church. Through the Lord's blessing, they have already begun work with one church to reach students, and they are seeking God's direction to find other churches. Believing and interested students are invited to events which engage them in Christ-centered conversations and lead to growth through a local church. PRAYER NEEDS: (1) Pray for fruit this summer as many students step out in faith to share the Gospel; (2) We have been asked to move out of our apartment as soon as possible, ask the Father to provide, we grow weary of looking!; and (3) Please pray for our team, for faith to remain and for roots to grow deep in Christ. Pray for the students that have already begun their mission of trying to raise up two younger disciples, as they trust the Lord to multiply their lives.
Colossians 1:28 - Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
